The Goal

Modern Dose was launching as a new brand with no existing website, which meant the eCommerce experience had to do a lot of heavy lifting from day one. I needed to design a site that reflected the client’s desired aesthetic, while also engaging users enough to understand the science behind the supplements without overwhelming them with information. This meant finding layouts that felt effortless while still clearly communicating complex ideas. The client had just finished building the brand identity, with each supplement having its own color and flavor. She wanted that reflected in the site to make it feel more visual and playful.

Research & Insights

I started with a few calls with the client to understand who she was selling to, what mattered most to communicate, and what questions first-time buyers would likely have. Then I reviewed a handful of supplement brands to see how they structured product education, pricing, and subscriptions, which helped me plan the site’s layout and information hierarchy.

Design Process

I designed the site structure from scratch, starting with a simple sitemap to define the core pages and flow. Then I created wireframes and high-fidelity designs in Figma, and built a clickable prototype to get a clearer picture of how the site would look and feel. I made sure the experience worked well across both desktop and mobile.

Final Design & Results

Final Design & Results

Final Design & Results

The final design brought Modern Dose’s branding to life in a way that felt clear and easy to shop from. I kept the layout scannable, broke the product education into smaller sections, and worked subscriptions into the flow in a way that felt natural. After launch, the client shared that the site started getting purchases and subscription sign-ups, and she was happy with how it supported the brand from day one.

Key Takeaways & Learnings

Key Takeaways & Learnings

Key Takeaways & Learnings

I learned how important it is to present educational information in a way that keeps users engaged without overwhelming them, especially in a fast-paced eCommerce context. I used competitor research to spot common patterns in how supplement brands structure information and guide decisions, which helped me make faster, more confident layout choices. It also taught me how to carry a playful brand system, like color and flavor, into a UI in a way that feels cohesive instead of noisy. The budget was tight, so I had to be intentional about what to build and what to leave out.
